What we do – in a nutshell
Lawrence Normie Consulting (LNC) is an independent professional advisory and support service for applied research and technology start-up initiatives. We specialize in helping international consortia achieve funding for their collaborative research projects through the European Union’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation – Horizon 2020 and supporting projects through their entire life cycle, from concept definition to results exploitation.
LNC offers business mentoring and support to start-up companies, including feasibility assessment, product definition, market analysis, business plan formulation, and intellectual property portfolio development.
Lawrence Normie is an interdisciplinary technology and engineering innovation specialist, with over 33 years’ cross-sector experience in commercial and institutional research and development. Between 1998 and 2014 Lawrence was Executive Director of GeronTech – The Israeli Center for Assistive Technology and Aging, where he led regional and international initiatives for technology research and innovation on ageing and disabilities. Lawrence has a long association with the European Commission’s successive research framework programmes (currently Horizon 2020) and is an external expert consulting to the EC for proposals evaluation and project progress reviews in shared cost multinational collaborative R&D initiatives.
Lawrence is associate editor of ISG’s peer-reviewed journal Gerontechnology. He is also a member of the editorial board for Technology and Disability. He represents Israel’s national standards body on ISO technical committees TC173 (Technical systems and aids for disabled or handicapped persons) and TC159/WG2 (Ergonomics for special populations). Lawrence is a member of the international scientific advisory committee (ISAC) for the Canadian network of excellence, AGE-WELL.
Lawrence is married with two children and lives in Jerusalem.
